ARE ...

I'd rather be a could-be
if I cannot be an are;
because a could-be is a maybe
who is reaching for a star.

I'd rather be a has-been
than a might-have-been, by far;
for a might have-been has never been,
but a has was once an are

Thursday

There's a hero..

"There's a hero..
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid.... Of what you are....

There's an answer....
If you reach into your soul...
And the sorrow that you know.... Will melt away

And then a hero comes along...
With the strength to carry on....
And you cast your fears aside...
And you know you can survive...

So when you feel like hope is gone...
Look inside you and be strong...
And you'll finally see the truth....
That a hero lies in you....

It's a long road....
When you face the world alone...
No one reaches out a hand... For you to hold...
You can find love ....If you search within yourself...
And the emptiness you felt... Will disappear....

And then a hero comes along...
With the strength to carry on....
And you cast your fears aside...
And you know you can survive...

So when you feel like hope is gone...
Look inside you and be strong...
And you'll finally see the truth....
That a hero lies in you...."

These are some words of the song Hero by Mariah Carey.. Definitely inspiring for someone in that situation..

Triumph and Defeat

Have you ever been in hard situations..(really hard ones) in life ? Are you one of those happy-go-lucky types .. that always have been fortunate somehow.. or been at the right place at the right time and never had to go through any of life's obstacles ? If you are the second kind.. you am not sure if you would find any "real" sense in the words below.. but all of the others, do read on..

Below is a poem by Rudyard Kipling, that a good friend of mine shared.. that I want to share here..

IF you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,

If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;

If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise;

If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;

If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;

If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;

If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ‘em up with worn-out tools;

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;

If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,‘
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch,i
f neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;

If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And - which is more - you’ll be a Man, my son!
